News and EventsSJV Goes GreenIn response to the recent gas crisis affecting the metro Atlanta area and in an effort to stay committed to the community, SJV has implemented a number of new policies to help minimize its impact on the environment. First, SJV is encouraging telecommuting for those employees that have the capacity to do so. SJV is also offering its employees catered lunches twice a week to minimize gas usage on lunch breaks. Additionally, SJV has implemented a rewards program to encourage employees to bike or carpool to work. Based on a point system for the number of days alternative transportation is used, gifts are given monthly and annually to employees who have the most points. As a result of their environmental commitment, SJV was recently featured on the news. Click here to see the video. Special AnnouncmentSJV is a growing company and as such offers new opportunities to its employees. The new position of Production Manager was recently created. Before this position was created, a combination of our managers oversaw the various different aspects of processing client requests and results. While this worked fine, having a manager whose sole responsibility is to oversee all functions of internal processing will further assure client orders are being handled in the most expeditious, efficient manner. After Cathy Weaver’s return from medical leave she was offered this new position. She decided to accept the offer. So effective Monday, June 23rd, Cathy is SJV’s new Production Manager. She will miss the personal contact clients, but feels she will be better able to serve client needs overseeing the processing of their requests and results. And with this restructuring, 100% of the Customer Service Manager’s time will be focused on looking after customer’s needs. Corey Beavers, who has been the “interim” Customer Service Manager during Cathy’s leave, has accepted the position of Customer Service Manager. Corey did a remarkable job during Cathy’s leave and will continue to do so in his new position. He is very prepared and qualified. Corey has a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. More importantly he has worked at SJV for over five years where he has worked in every department in leadership positions. Before SJV, he worked for Forsyth County Sheriff's Office in Cumming, GA as a Deputy Sheriff in the Forsyth County Detention Facility. SJV is confident that these changes will only benefit our clients overall experience when they chose SJV to perform their valuable background screenings. Q1 2008SJV & Associates’ first quarter of 2008 was highly productive in the areas of Information Technology, NAPBS sponsored activities, and above all, maintaining our 99.9% accuracy rating per our ISO Certification. As many of our long-time clients have noticed, we have launched a new design to our website, which we believe will help clients both new and old navigate through and learn more about SJV’s services and current scope of activity in the industry. In April SJV became fully integrated with AccioData technology. AccioData is a full-service applicant tracking system that delivers Web-based software solutions to employment screening firms. Some of their features for our client base include extensible XML interfaces providing workflow management, invoicing, vendor management, and reporting modules. The annual NAPBS conference was held this past March, in the city of New Orleans. Members of our staff that attended were our President, Scott Vanek, Vendor Relations Manager, Shane Oestricher, IT Manager Nick Kelland, and Business Development Coordinator, Vince Brodt. SJV served as Conference Ambassadors for many of the NAPBS’ educational sessions, ensuring a smooth transition from all the various activities the conference offered. SJV will also be attending the mid-year meeting in October to help plan for next year’s annual conference in St. Louis, Missouri. SJV’s commitment to providing accurate court records research in a timely manner has urged us to seek out a high standard of quality assurance. Through our ISO Certified Quality Management System, we have maintained a level of accuracy this past quarter that is in-line with our annual goal of 99.9%.
